Articling Careers

If you want to litigate, we want to hear from you.

Brauti Thorning LLP is a boutique litigation law firm specializing in criminal and civil litigation. Our lawyers are in court every week and are involved in high profile cases. This work requires strong student support and offers a valuable learning experience for students who want an intensive litigation experience.

As a "BT Legal" articling student, you will have the opportunity to work on a file from "A" to "Z". You will gain hands on practical experience and make a real contribution to the files that you are working on. You can expect to attend court with our lawyers and speak to matters under the lawyers' supervision. You will develop both oral and written advocacy skills by assisting our lawyers and by managing your own files under the guidance of our lawyers. You will also be involved in researching, drafting materials, meeting and corresponding with clients as well as providing general support for the lawyers.

We accept applications in accordance with the Law Society Guidelines. As such, we require applications to be submitted through the viLawPortal. Applications submitted by mail or email cannot be considered.

Students who are interested in an intensive litigation experience should submit (through the VI Law Portal): a cover letter, resume, two letters of reference, undergraduate and law school transcripts and a writing sample. Applications may be addressed to:

As students are often required to travel to various courthouses in and around the Greater Toronto Area, the successful applicant will be required to have a car or access to a car during their employment term.
