Our Team

Ciarán is a partner in our civil litigation group specializing in subrogation as well as construction and commercial litigation. He is an experienced litigator with a record of achieving excellent, cost-effective results for a wide variety of institutional, corporate and private clients, including national and international insurers, municipalities and professionals.

Before joining Brauti Thorning, Ciarán was a partner for several years at a boutique litigation firm in Toronto where he focused on the prosecution of complex subrogated claims involving construction defects, environmental contamination, fraud, breach of contract and product liability, as well as commercial litigation, construction lien actions and professional negligence.

Ciarán has been called to the bar in Ontario, British Columbia, New York and Ireland. His multi-jurisdictional litigation experience ranges from working on criminal proceedings in Ireland’s High Court to appearing as trial counsel in civil actions in New York and Ontario.

A fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and member of the institute’s Canadian branch, Ciarán has a Bachelor of Civil Law degree (B.C.L.) and a postgraduate law degree (LL.M. in European Union Law), both from University College Dublin, Ireland, as well as a Barrister-at-Law degree from the Honorable Society of King’s Inns, Ireland.
