Police Law
Marcela Ahumada is an Associate lawyer who practices in the areas of criminal, professional discipline and regulatory law.
Marcela received her Honours B.A. in Criminology with a minor in History from Western University in 2014. She attended the University of Guelph where she completed a Masters degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice Policy in 2016. During her Masters, she researched drug treatment courts and criminal diversion programs in Ontario. Marcela was a Teacher's Assistant for the Young Offenders and Administration of Criminal Justice undergraduate courses.
Marcela completed her Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2019. While at Osgoode, she volunteered with the Community & Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP) as an intake worker and was a research assistant for the Justice and Corporate Accountability Project (JCAP). Marcela was involved in the Osgoode Criminal Law Society and the Hispanic Osgoode Law Association. She spent a semester with the judges of the Ontario Court of Justice as a Criminal Law Intensive student. In her final year, Marcela received a distinguished oralist award in the Frozen Open Osgoode Moot and competed in the 2019 Gale Cup Moot. She also coached the Osgoode team in the 2019 Cassels Brock Cup Moot.
Marcela began at BT Legal in 2018 as a summer student and returned as an articling student in 2019. She speaks English and Spanish.
