Areas of Expertise
Scott Dallen is an Associate lawyer who practices in the areas of civil and criminal litigation, employment, administrative, and regulatory law. He also has expertise in cannabis law, having helped open one of Ontario’s first legal retail stores, and having successfully defended charges under the Cannabis Act.
Scott received his Honours B.A. in International Relations and Peace, Conflict, and Justice studies from the University of Toronto in 2014. After working as a speechwriter, and later as an advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Scott completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2018.
While at UofT Law, Scott was an editor for the University of Toronto Law Review, and an executive editor for the publications Ultra Vires and the Journal of International Law and International Relations. He competed in the Willms and Shier moot and the Arnup Trial Advocacy moot, receiving distinguished oralist awards.
Scott joined BT Legal in 2017 as a summer student, and as an articling student in 2018. He also serves on the Board of ProAction Cops & Kids, an NGO aimed at forming positive connections between police officers and community members through sports and the arts.
